ANNUAL FASHION SHOW

SBAP hosts a Fashion Show every October where students (kids, teens, & adults) model their own creations in a real fashion show.

ALL STUDENTS in the program participate in the Annual Fashion Show.  There is a $50 show fee for each student that is due by February 14th.  Students who enroll after Feb 14th will billed the $50 show fee at the time of enrollment.

SUPPLIES

Most of the time just bring yourself to open studio.  Once you have planned some designs students may need to purchase some fabric.  We have tons of fabric and are always getting more things in but sometimes we may not have what you need or want.  Students are always welcome to bring their own sewing box and supplies, but is not required.

Drop OFF & Pick UP

  • ALL STUDENTS must have a student information form filled out before attending open studio.  Please click here to fill out your form.  You must fill out a separate form for each student you are registering.

  • If your child is a new student, you must stay in the waiting area during class until we are sure your child is comfortable being dropped off.

  • ALL STUDENTS must be signed in and out every session

SBAP Fashion Project is a place where students can come express themselves through Fashion Design.  Kids, Teens, and Adults learn how to sew, cut, drape, pattern, up-cycle and re-design.  All students have the opportunity to create and design a look from head-to-toe.  Our studio environment is cultivated in which beginners can work alongside experienced artists on independent projects.  During any given studio session, you will see kids, teens, adults, professional artists and instructors working together.

ABOUT the artistic processes at Open Studio Workshop
  • We teach PROCESS over PRODUCT, which means that we prioritize learning important skills and techniques, practice work and experimentation.
  • Students will not complete a project every visit.
  • Students who spend more time in the studio are exposed to more art making processes, and as a result will be able to continuously build on prior experiences.
  • NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, all skills levels welcome
  • There is an instructor TEACHING at Open Studio Workshops
  • Instructors work with ALL students to set the pace for learning skills, techniques, and setting goals for creating.   Instructors reserve the right to set the appropriate pace for each student.  Students to learn at their own pace at their own level.
  • Each session we will take some time with each student to reflect and record what skills they have been introduced to, produced works with, and mastered.
  •  We have our skill sets divided up into 3 levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  Each level has different skills and techniques to learn, practice, and master.
