GLAZE & FIRING
SBAP has 20+ glaze colors and lots of options for slips and engobes. Each class will have different options for finishing. Some classes you will apply the glaze or surface treatment, while other classes will not have time for painted colors and thus will be dipped in glaze by the instructor at a later time. Projects are usually ready for pick-up in about 3-4 weeks. You will be notified by email when your pottery is ready for pick-up, but always feel free to give us a call too!
Feel free to bring your drinks or snacks! You are not required to bring anything but yourself, but if you choose to bring any drinks or snacks we always have plates, cups, wine glasses, napkins, utensils, and wine openers on hand.

"Wheel Throwing" is defined in which a lump of clay is placed centrally on the potters wheel and then squeezed, lifted and shaped as the wheel is turned.
WHEEL THROWING 101 classes have 10 students or less in a class. Each student will throw on the wheel for 60-90 minutes and the other half of class time is spent watching a demonstration, working with a partner and more... Whether you are a beginner at the wheel or just brushing up on techniques, the instructor will meet you at your level. Students will keep one wheel thrown piece and one small pinch pot
cup or mug at the end of class.

CLAY DATE NIGHTS & DAYS
BEGINNERS WELCOME / Thurs-Fri-Sat 7-10 pm / Sunday Mornings 11am-2pm / BYOB
$ 45 Per Student
"Handbuilding" is working with clay by hand using only simple tools. The three most common forms of hand built pottery are pinch, coil and slab techniques. Most do not realize the infinite world of hand building and the artistic possibilities it opens.
Hand-building Clay Date Nights feature a different functional or sculptural project that the entire class learns how to make. While everyone makes the same type of project each students creation is completely unique and different. We will ONLY be making items related to the class theme, in order to keep our teaching
methods authentic and effective.
